Mexican striker De Nigris dies aged 31

De Nigris played 16 times for Mexico and was playing for Larissa in Greece when he died.

(CNN) — Mexico international striker Antonio de Nigris has died at the age of 31 from a suspected heart attack.

The former Villarreal player, who was capped 16 times by his country, was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Monday morning but was pronounced dead on arrival, his Greek club Larissa confirmed in a statement.

De Nigris joined Larissa in the summer from Turkish side Ankaragucu, making six appearances.

The statement read: “The Larissa family mourns the tragic loss of 31-year-old Mexican footballer Antonio de Nigris.

“It is with deep sorrow that the administration, coaching staff, players and executives of the club would like to express their condolences to his family, particularly to his wife Sonia and their five-year-old daughter Miranda.

“An autopsy will be held at the General Academic Hospital in Larissa to determine the precise reasons of his death.”

De Nigris represented his country at the 2001 Copa America and scored a superb goal against Brazil on his international debut.

(CNN) — A memorial cruise is scheduled to set sail 100 years after the sinking of the Titantic, following the same trans-Atlantic route as the ill-fated ship, according to organizers.

A list of first class passengers for the R.M.S. Titanic is one of the artifacts that remains after the sinking.

The Titanic Memorial Cruise is to set sail in April 2012, departing from Southampton, England, on April 8, just as the Titanic did.

On April 15, the ship — the Balmoral — will arrive at the spot in the North Atlantic where the Titanic sank after it collided with an iceberg.

Passengers on the 2012 cruise will take part in a memorial service at the site, according to organizer Miles Morgan Travel.

Artifacts from the Titanic and a piece of the ship’s hull have been recovered, but most of the wreckage remains where the luxury cruise liner sank.

The 12-night memorial cruise will then take passengers to Halifax in Nova Scotia, Canada, so they can visit cemeteries where some of the Titanic victims are buried. The trip will end in New York, where the Titanic was headed. Prices for the trip start at $3,900.

Millvina Dean, thought to be the last survivor of the Titanic, died in June 2009 at age 97, according to friends.

Dean was an infant when the Titanic — publicized as “practically unsinkable” and as the largest passenger steamship at the time — struck an iceberg on the night of April 14, 1912, during its maiden voyage from Southampton in southern England to New York. The ship sank less than three hours later, killing more than 1,500 people.

Dean’s brother and mother also survived the sinking.

Decline of civilization

Well, that would assume I consider Georgia civil.  But I did think there were some nice people there. 

I hate this story because my boyfriend says I need to watch who I’m flicking off in traffic because I could be retaliated against.  I say, “Bring it!”  I would be fine dying in traffic.

But this story shows you can’t say, “Boo!” to anyone regarding their bad manners.  It’s sad.  If you’re an idiot, take your licking and move on.  I can’t believe this guy decided to fight someone serving our country.

You can go your own way….

The good thing about when I used to only have a few friends was that you only have to deal with the potential of a few weddings.   But two people I know (not close friends) are having their weddings out of the country in the next few months.  I do not like this trend.  I had a friend a few years ago ask some of her friends to come to Las Vegas to attend her wedding, when there were plenty of places she could have gotten married locally.  Only because I had recently done a refinance of my condo did I remotely have  the money to undertake this venture.  But if I were a better money manager, I would NOT have gone, nor batted an eyelash about it.  So, several months ago, I get an invitation from a “not close” friend to join them on some cruise to some place for like $1,200.  Seriously?  What is this about?  And now there is another wedding my boyfriend and I are being asked to attend in the Bahamas.  This just irritates me.  If you really care so much about having your friends with you for this event, why don’t you do them all a favor and get married locally where they can attend for free and then YOU go off to the tropical locale on something they used to call a HONEYMOON!  Heard of it?   By asking your friends to join you on this jaunt, you’re putting a financial hardship on them.  So much for being a good friend.  Do the hormones and pheromones of getting married make brides-to-be lose their minds?  We’re not all sucking on the same helium as you.  Enjoy your engagement, have your wedding – the smaller, the better – and then GO AWAY.

More murder!!!

Ya know, I don’t write in here because I have to.  Something on the OUTSIDE sparks my passion/hatred and then I run here to blog.  This article did it to me for a few reasons.  It is about the guy who walked into the Pennsylvania gym and killed 3 people and himself.  For one thing, any woman who’s ever been alive and been ogled by a guy (which is all of us… even the ugly ones) should understand this story.  I understood every word of it…and thought the last line was ridiculous.  “I can’t ever make sense of murders.,”  someone said.  Now either it’s me or the writer, but I can’t tell who said it.  I am hoping it wasn’t someone in the police force, and that instead it was the idiot pastor the writer had mentioned a sentence or two before.

I’m not super smart, and I’m not YET a sociopath, but I can completely understand murder and why this guy did it.  His rants about not being able to really connect with a woman…and surely he got some snubs at the gym.  Finally, he couldn’t take it anymore.  So, I don’t know if he was a complete nerd or nut or what, but I hope the women that spurned his advances, including the bitch at church, are happy with themselves.  Sometimes just one kind word can keep someone from going off the deep end.  However, I understand stalking too, and a kind word can also lead to a restraining order, so I digress.

If I ever snap, it will probably be in a similar way, so I understand murder and murderous tendencies.  It’s not rocket science.  Just be nice.

They’re back

So, is this Al Qaeda’s most recent attack???  Why am I the only one who sees it?  They’re sending terrorists to kill our ex-football players now?  I bet they feel dumb that they didn’t think of the Michael Jackson thing sooner.  When they did 9/11 they wanted to bring America to its knees…I can’t believe they weren’t thinking on a more global scale to bring the WORLD to its knees…by killing only one child molester?  I hope they fired the terrorist in Research and Development on that one….or at least asked him to step down.

So, the new wave of terrorist is a semi-attractive and brooding 20-year-old who starts an affair with an ex-football quarterback and then kills him.  And really, she shot him while he was sleeping and then killed herself?  I would have expected the normal suicide bombing in that one…she could have invited him out for drinks at a nice local bar and then KA-PLOW!!! Mayhem in the streets.

I wonder who’s next.

A fucked up brain

Sure, some would say this must be the name of my autobiography, but you would be WRONG.

I am talking about the stupid 16 year old bitch in Orlando who called 911 to say she was kidnapped by several guys in an SUV just because she didn’t want to be in trouble for being out late.

This annoys me to no end…and scares me.  It is the SAME mentality as a man who doesn’t want to pay alimony to his wife, so he thinks killing her is the better option.  People whose brains can’t think through a situation and weigh the outcomes frighten me.

I can weigh outcomes; that is why I don’t do the plethora of torturous things that make me salivate with delight when I dream about them.  I can see that the end may not justify the means.  So, what is wrong with the rest of these people?

Thank gawd they’re charging her dumb ass for the 9 agency search!!!  I hope that sticks and is a lesson for the next stupid bitch.

Ross

I am watching a comedian who I swear stole my bit from my TV show a few years back.  He is talking about Ross and how it looks like downtown Beirut once you step in the doors.  I didn’t say Beirut, but I did say it looks like there should be police tape surrounding the store because a crime has been committed inside.  His bit was funny…about how he was looking for a pair of jeans, and he leans down to show he’s picking them up off the floor…and he says he found a pair…in the housewares section.  Pretty accurate!

Fads

Uh, the clothes.  I don’t know why I don’t make my own clothes.  I really should.  Instead, you are at the mercy of the designers.  And fads…I think I know why some fads only come around every 20 or 30 years…it’s so people will have enough time to forget them from the first or second go around and they’ll have a fresh chance.  BUT the one that is killing me today is the long, gharish colored dresses that are out now, which I don’t dare buy for fear of one of my friends - and I know the one, too – yelling out, “Hey there, Mrs. Roper!”  But these kids nowadays are too young to remember her and her crazy long caftans.  Even though these dresses are sleeveless and not like a caftan except for being floor length, the colors are definitely reminiscent of some of the nutty things she would wear.  And it’s probably better that I don’t buy one anyway…it was just going to be a cover up for the boat or lounging around a pool, but it would probably be too hot anyway.
